With the support of the FFMED Foundation, the Young Creators Association– Guelmim organized a training session on April 30, 2025, titled “Financial Management for Associations.” This session was part of the “Strengthening Women’s Capacities” project, and it targeted associations working in the field of women’s rights. The training was facilitated by Mr. Hassan Bousman and Mr. Abdellah Boukhioud.
The session began with a welcoming address and an overview of the objectives of this training, which is part of a broader program aimed at strengthening the financial and administrative capacities of civil society actors.
The facilitators covered three main themes during the workshop. The first focused on the legal foundations that require associations to adopt a financial system, including a presentation of the Moroccan law governing associations—particularly the need to establish a transparent and organized financial system subject to accounting and oversight.
The second theme was dedicated to defining financial management for associations, with an emphasis on its importance in ensuring the continuity of activities and achieving developmental goals. The facilitators highlighted that sound financial management is a key requirement for building credibility with partners and funding bodies.
The third theme covered the components of financial management, such as budget preparation, expense tracking, accounting documentation, and financial reporting, supported by practical examples and illustrative templates.
The session was marked by active engagement from the participants, who raised specific questions about the financial challenges their associations face. The session concluded by emphasizing the importance of enhancing financial competencies within associations to ensure effectiveness and sustainability.
