The first day of training dedicated to raising awareness among rural girls in matters of sexual and reproductive health took place successfully at the head office of our association on January 13, 2024. The main activity of this day was the training of the facilitators responsible for to effectively communicate this crucial information in targeted rural communities.
The day began with a warm welcome from the participants to our premises. The organizing team has set up a friendly space conducive to discussion and learning. The participants, coming from various backgrounds and possessing varied skills, brought richness and diversity to the dynamics of the training.
The session began with a presentation of the project, highlighting the crucial importance of raising awareness among rural girls about sexual and reproductive health issues. The trainers highlighted the positive impact that this awareness raising could have on the lives of young girls, both on an individual and community level.
The training itself was structured in an interactive and participatory manner, promoting participant engagement. Varied modules were covered, covering topics such as sexual and reproductive rights, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, family planning, and effective communication with rural communities. Practical case studies were presented to reinforce the understanding and application of the concepts.
A highlight of the day was the simulation of real situations that the facilitators might encounter in the field. This allowed participants to apply their newly acquired skills in a practical context, thereby building their confidence in their abilities.
The day concluded with an exchange of ideas and feedback between trainers and participants. Participants expressed satisfaction with the quality of the training and shared their perspectives on how they could incorporate this knowledge into their future outreach efforts.
In summary, the first day of training laid a solid foundation for the continuation of the project to raise awareness of rural girls in sexual and reproductive health. Participants left enriched with knowledge and practical tools that will help them play a key role in achieving the ambitious goals of this project.
